Neurosurgery is a medical specialty and a branch of surgery that deals with the surgical and neurosurgical treatment of skull, brain, spinal cord, spine, and nervous system diseases. An increasing number of diseases can be successfully treated in the invasive, and last decades, and by minimally invasive methods, due to the growing development of technique and auxiliary treatment devices. However, with good equipment, neurosurgery, for successful functioning still requires a well-known standard: good surgical knowledge, extensive professional experience, and application of microscopic technique, i.e. the skill of performing operations under a large magnification microscope.
